Pastor David Shaw
David Shaw has been a pastor here at Emmanuel since 2002. His ministry preparation was acquired through Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Religion at Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, MA and over 30 years of pastoral experience in five different congregations.
One of David’s defining characteristics is his curiosity. He loves to read and study and figure out how things work and what makes people tick. He has also dabbled in a long list of interests including volleyball, stained glass, photography, gardening, and playing the bagpipes.
Through his participation with the Wareham Area Clergy Association’s temporary overnight shelter program “Nights of Hospitality”, Turning Point (a day resource center for the homeless and near homeless), and Emmanuel’s “Hope of Home” Missional Community, David is very involved addressing the extensive needs of the homeless community in Wareham.
The most satisfying work he does, though, is to help people come to understand and enjoy the relationship they can have with the God who loves us all with a deep and transforming love. Through preaching, teaching, mentoring, sharing life, and providing spiritual direction David helps those who are searching find a deeper relationship with our Heavenly Father.
